Cow-to-Classroom Grant Recipient
We’ve Been Keeping a Secret… and Now We’re on the Cover of the Frederick News Post!
It’s finally time to let you in on a BIG secret we’ve been keeping—and we’ve been celebrating behind the scenes!
Back in March, we took a leap and applied for the Frederick County Agriculture Innovation Grant, a local initiative that funds forward-thinking farm projects that strengthen our economy, create jobs, and help agriculture businesses like ours grow in new and meaningful ways.
We poured our hearts into the application—writing a business plan, organizing financials, and (most nerve-wracking of all) sharing the big, scary, beautiful dream behind our project. And guess what? Out of over 35 applicants, we were one of only seven farms selected to receive funding.
— That dream?
We’re turning a cattle trailer into a mobile classroom on wheels. Our Highland cows will soon be hitting the road—visiting schools, daycares, and community events across the county to bring agriculture directly to kids and families. Think “field trip,” but in reverse!
And to top it all off… our project just made the FRONT PAGE of the Frederick News-Post!

We are honored, humbled, and incredibly grateful to be among this year’s grant recipients. The support of Frederick County, @fredcoexec, @fredcogovmd, and @homegrownfrederick is making this dream a reality. We are so proud to stand alongside the other amazing farms selected for this opportunity.
🗓️ We’re aiming to officially launch the Cow-to-Classroom program in October/November 2025, and there's a lot of work ahead—but we’re charging full steam (and full moo!) ahead.
