Volunteer Day at Black Rock Farm
Alright friends, we need your help!! We are throwing out the SOS flag because I *might* have bitten off a little more than I can chew… lol
Fall is a crazy busy season for us, and in preparation we will be cutting an tying our corn stalk bunches on August 23rd, 2025 from 4:00pm - 7:00pm!
We have a machine that cuts and bundles the corn, we simply have to tie a second string around the bunches and organize them in bins! We will need some people to lift bunches (approximately 30lbs) off the trailers and then into the bins, and other people simply to cut and tie strings! All tying will be done in the shade in our barns (with fans) and will require standing and walking for about two hours. This is open to all ages and skill levels.
Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Schedule:
4:00pm - 6:00pm | Working with the corn stalks
6:00pm - 7:00pm | Dinner provided and cow visiting
Registeration required (free) to help us plan food accordingly
Closed toe shoes required, long pants reccomended.
We will have water bottles on site, but feel free to bring your own non alcoholic beverages.
Dinner will be subs from The Wolfsville Stop, chips and drinks also provided. Please be sure to note any food allergies in the sign up form below (after you hit the “book” button).
THANK YOU for considering helping us for the afternoon- it means the WORLD!🧡
